I'm Jennifer, a traditional Ebru artist based in Boise, ID and I'm so glad you've joined me!

Ebru, also known as marbling, is an ancient and mesmerizing art form that has been passed down through generations. Its origins can be traced back to the 15th century, where it began in the Ottoman Empire, inspired by techniques from Central Asia, Persia and Turkey. The art form flourished as artists used it to decorate manuscripts, books, and paper, adding beauty and uniqueness to each piece.

The magic of Ebru lies in its simple yet captivating process. It starts with a tray of thickened water, onto which thinned paints are carefully dropped. Using marbling tools, the colors are manipulated to create intricate patterns and then transferred to a canvas of choice.

Today, this ancient art form continues to captivate modern audiences, combining rich tradition with contemporary flair. I had the unique opportunity to be trained by an expert Ebru artist from Turkey. It is my desire to honor traditional practices as I cultivate creativity by sharing this art form. ​My hope is that through my hand-painted products, videos and teachings, people will get the chance to fully experience and appreciate an art form that brings joy, amazement and color to the world!
